Xiaomi Mi 12 could sport Samsung’s 200 megapixel camera

(Pocket-lint) – The Xiaomi Mi 12 is unlikely to be released for much of the year – after all, the Mi 11 family has only arrived in the west in the last few months – but this did not stop the mill rumor already starting to turn.

Allegedly under development, the next flagship would be equipped with Samsung’s 200-megapixel Isocell camera sensor. Speculation also suggests that the full camera unit will result from a Xiaomi, Samsung and Olympus partnership.

Samsung has reportedly been working on a 200-megapixel sensor for some time – it was suggested in April that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra would use it. However, the Olympus angle is relatively new. It is said that there might even be the Olympus branding on the back.

It has already been said that the sensor would have pixels of 1.28 µm and would be 1 / 1.37 inch in size. MySmartPrice Also writes that the sensor itself will be 192-megapixel, with the 200-megapixel camera’s claim being bolstered by auxiliary sensors.

It is also rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 12 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895. Naturally, this chipset has yet to be announced, with handsets not expected to adopt it until 2022.

It seems to match Xiaomi’s timing, so only a little pinch of salt was needed this time around.
