Watchfire Signs Selected for NJCAA College World Series

DANVILLE, Ill., June 29, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – When visitors flocked to the David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Oklahoma to watch the 2021 National Junior College Athletic Association Division II World Series of Baseball in May, they were able to follow the action on a massive new 19 ‘by 35’ video card manufactured by Watchfire Signs. David Allen Memorial Ballpark is a cooperative public-private partnership of the Baseball Stadium, Town of Enid and Enid Public Schools nonprofit. It serves as the ground for Enid High School Baseball and Northern Oklahoma College Baseball, and hosts more than 400 games per year, including several high-level tournaments.

The Watchfire 16mm video board, installed by Kline Sign, replaces a 13 year old fixed digit combo dashboard and video board. The new virtual scoreboard allows the park to personalize the board with the team’s branding, and the vivid LED video display can be used to keep score, showcase players, energize fans, and provide advertising opportunities. Watchfire’s live video capability enhances fan engagement with crowd shots and live action from the game.

The stadium uses Watchfire Ignite Sports software to score the match and keep the crowd entertained. The built-in editor is used to create player profiles for teams playing at the stadium and allows table operators to instantly switch from a video scoreboard with stats to live video with just a few clicks. Advertising areas can be created using simple drag and drop functions.

Watchfire’s video dashboards are designed for outdoor sports use in all weather conditions and feature fast refresh rates, high contrast LEDs, wide-angle viewing, and control room integration.

Due to the flexibility of the new video board, the Town of Enid is considering hosting outdoor movie nights using the board and is considering hosting outdoor concerts in cooperation with the Stride Bank Center, a event center belonging to the city of Enid.

“Watchfire provided the three things we were looking for in a new dashboard: the best quality, the best price and the best support,” said Sam Robinson, financial director of Enid’s public schools. “Enid Public Schools is very happy to have the new video board; it has received high praise from all who visit the stadium.
