Vivo X Fold Plus with 50MP camera is coming to China this month

The launch date of the Vivo X Fold Plus smartphone has been announced. Additionally, the camera specs of the handset have been revealed. Word on the vine is that Vivo will launch another foldable phone later this year. To recap, the company launched its very first foldable smartphone dubbed Vivo X Fold in China earlier this year. The X Fold sold like hotcakes after hitting store shelves for the first time in April.

Unfortunately, Vivo has not launched the X Fold in the Indian market. Now, the company is set to unveil its next foldable phone with the Vivo X Fold Plus moniker. However, Vivo was originally preparing to launch it as X Fold S. With no official confirmation, renowned tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the camera specifications of the Vivo X Fold Plus smartphone.

DCS claims the X Fold S could launch as a Plus model in a new Weibo post. So, the Vivo X Fold Plus could be the Chinese tech company’s next foldable phone. However, Vivo has neither confirmed nor denied these speculations. According to the leaker, the rear camera setup of the Vivo X Fold Plus will feature a 50MP main sensor. Additionally, there will be a 48 MP ultra-wide camera on the back.

On the front, the Vivo X Fold Plus has a 16MP shooter for capturing selfies and video calls. Interestingly, this leaked camera setup is similar to the Vivo X Fold’s camera specs. Additionally, a 4700mAh dual-cell battery will power the entire system.

Vivo X Fold S

Under the hood, the X Fold Plus packs the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Notably, the alleged Vivo X Fold S recently got approval from China’s 3C certification website. The 3C listing showed that the handset has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC. Additionally, DCS says the X Fold Plus will offer longer battery life than its predecessor. As a reminder, the X Fold used a 4,600 mAh battery to draw its juice. Moreover, the Plus model could support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The smartphone could sport an 8.03-inch foldable indoor LTPO AMOLED display with 2K resolution support. Additionally, this display will likely deliver a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is likely to get a 6.53-inch 120Hz AMOLED cover display on the outside. Both screens could get an in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the device could come in a red color option with a leather finish. The launch of the Vivo X Fold Plus smartphone in China could take place later this month.
