Video camera bells and dash cam footage could hold clues to locating missing 96-year-old man, police say

Doorbells with video cameras may hold clues to a 96-year-old woman who has been missing since Saturday, police say.

The pensioner, named by police as Rita only, was last seen in Brecon at 10.20am on Saturday February 26.

An ‘extensive’ multi-agency search in the Brecon area continued on Monday with the search team from Dyfed-Powys Police, Brecon Mountain Rescue, Mid & West Wales Fire Service and National Police Air Service .

The man in charge of the search operation has asked people to check their garden sheds and doorbells in case they offer any clues to Rita’s whereabouts.

Inspector Brian Jones said: ‘The search is continuing today and we are asking residents to check their outbuildings, such as garages and sheds, in case Rita has taken shelter.

“We are also asking the public to check and review their private CCTV cameras, Ring doorbells, GoPros, dash cams or any other sources of video that may capture Rita in the Brecon area on Saturday.”

Rita is believed to wear a fleece sweater with a leaf pattern and travel on foot. His family is supported by specially trained officers.
