After leading the attack, Wahid and Ali got back into the BMW and Mohamed chased them towards Stratford Road.

The victim managed to run to a nearby garage where he was helped by staff members.

Officers found the man on the ground covered in blood and vomiting repeatedly.

He had a deep cut on his head and his shirt had been ripped off.

His left and right jaws were fractured and he had to be operated on with metal plates and screws.

The victim then named Ali and Mohamed and gave the police the license plate of the BMW.

Mohamed’s BMW was seized on September 9 and officers uploaded dash cam footage capturing the vicious attack.

The dash cam also recorded the defendants planning the attack while driving, then laughing afterwards.

Ali says he will ‘kick him in the face’ and then tells Mohamed that if the victim tried to run away he will have to ‘drive him’ adding ‘don’t give the man a chance’ .

Footage shows the car stopping just before West Road and Wahid exiting ready to grab the victim when Mohamed pulls up beside him.

After the attack, Ali and Wahid get into the car out of breath and tell Mohamed to drive.

They are then heard laughing at the attack, saying:

“I crushed his skull, he’s bleeding.

“I licked it four good times with that thing, knocked it out.

“I kicked him, I punched him in the face.

“He was crying for his life, beggar.”

‘I said do you want to die today? He said no, no, no, no, no. I’m sorry, bye, bye, bye, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. If he hadn’t said that, I would have killed him.

Mohamed was arrested on September 10 as he tried to retrieve his BMW from the police impound lot.

Both Ali and Wahid were arrested on September 15 when they surrendered to Forest Gate police station. All three did not answer any questions during their interview with the police.

Ali, Valetta Grove, Plaistow, Wahid, of Queen’s Terrace, Upton Park, and Mohamed, of Rawstone Walk, Plaistow, all admitted to intentionally causing grievous bodily harm.

Ali and Mohamed were each imprisoned for four years and six months while Wahid was imprisoned for four years.

Detective Constable Andy Tucker, the North East Region CID investigator, said: ‘This was a brutal, pre-mediated attack which left the victim seriously injured and in need of surgery emergency.

“It is absolutely appalling that the three left and laughed and joked about the vicious attack as the victim was bleeding in the street. They had no remorse for their actions.

“We were determined to get justice for the victim and our thorough investigation meant that Ali, Wahid and Mohamed had no choice but to plead guilty to their heinous crimes.

“We will not tolerate any form of violence and we will do everything in our power to ensure that violent individuals like Ali, Wahid and Mohamed are put behind bars.”
