The winner of the Oxford Mail Camera Club this week is a photo of the village

A BEAUTIFUL autumnal image of Shipton-on-Cherwell was the winning shot in the Oxford Mail Camera Club competition this week.

Club members have been tasked with taking ‘Oxfordshire’s best photos’ to celebrate World Photography Day last week.

There were plans for historic buildings in the city centre, the scenic countryside and the River Thames.

WINNER: Shipton-on-Cherwell by Gordon Craig

Gordon Craig’s photo of the quaint village about two miles north of Kidlington caught our eye with the fall colors preparing us for the season.

Each week, members of the photo club are assigned a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page. The Oxford Mail publishes a selection of photos every week.

A winner of the week is then chosen. The next theme, chosen by the members of the photo club, is “When I was little…”
