Rogen laughed, gasped and sweated through a 10th grade old story on the spicy chicken wings-centric YouTube talk show
Comedian, actor and filmmaker Seth Rogen named Tsawwassen during an interview on the YouTube talk show series “Hot Ones” last month while working his way through several rounds of spicy wings.
During the final round, show host Sean Evans handed the interview reins to Rogen’s longtime friend and collaborator Evan Goldberg, who then prompted him to think back to their common childhood.
“Seth has done many brave things on and off camera. You have been a brave partner in our business endeavors, but there was a time in the 10and when you did one of the least brave things I’ve ever seen done,” Goldberg began. “It was in Tsawwassen.
While trying to suppress the building heat of the final chicken wing with a glass of milk, Rogen agreed that it was indeed a “cowardly maneuver” and proceeded to tell the story.
It happened at the old paintball arena, he said.
“[Tsawwassen] had a giant outdoor paintball facility and we all went paintballing there, and these guys came in who were like professional paintball guys, and we’re, like, 15 years old. They are loaded with paintballs and have automatic paintball guns, and we have cheap pump-action paintball guns,” Rogen said.
“And they, right away, from my memory, just unload a torrent of bullets…And I ran off into the woods as literally all my friends are wiped out…I ran and I was like, ‘We we did this, guys! We ran away and then I looked back and I was all alone.
Goldberg pointed out how he himself had received around 25 blows to the back and was covered in marks.
When young Rogen finally returned to the crime scene, everyone was furious with him for bailing out the entire group to defend himself against the pros, the couple recalled.
The paintball facility the pair referenced on the Jan. 20 episode of Hot Ones no longer exists much to the dismay of Rogen, who replied “Noooooo” on Twitter to someone sharing the news.
