RCMP search on-board camera footage after road rage incident in Chilliwack

Man driving black van pulled over and allegedly threatened to hit another driver

Chilliwack Mounted Police are asking for help with dash camera video following an alleged road rage incident at the Lickman-Luckakuck roundabout last week.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 16, a motorist attended the Chilliwack RCMP detachment to report the incident at the roundabout 15 minutes earlier.

Another motorist crossing the Lickman Road roundabout was cut off by the driver of a black truck towing a black dump trailer who then blocked the road, grabbed the first motorist and threatened to hit the victim.

Frontline officers responded to the report and patrolled the area, but could not locate the black truck.

Police contacted motorists traveling Lickman Road and Luckakuck Way on June 16 between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. who may have witnessed the stopped vehicles or obtained video from the on-board camera to contact the RCMP from Chilliwack.

“It is fortunate that no one was injured in the incident,” said Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. said Mike Rail. “We are contacting motorists who may have captured footage of the incident and the driver of the black truck to contact the police.”

Anyone with information regarding this investigation should call the police at 604-792-4611 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
