Police dash cam catches two men shooting others in Kansas

Two men were arrested after being caught on police dash cam video shoot a group of men Laurent, policeman said on Facebook.

Video shows one of the suspects hanging from the passenger window of a white Volkswagen Passat as he allegedly fired at least one shot at the walking group of men. None of the men were hit by gunfire, police said.

The incident began around 1 a.m. Sunday near 11th and Vermont streets in downtown Lawrence. Witnesses told police there had been an argument between the men.

Police released the video indicating the incident began near 11th and Kentucky Streets. The passenger reportedly fired at least one shot before the car pulled away.

Officers witnessed and heard the gunshots. They chased the car, which stopped and the two men inside surrendered to police near Sixth and Main streets.

Both men were taken into custody. Police then found a gun which was thrown along the road where the car fled. They also found bullet casings near the original scene.

The case was assigned to the Douglas County Attorney’s Office for possible charges, police said.
