The Huawei P50 Pocket was launched at the very end of 2021 and it became Huawei’s first clamshell foldable smartphone. Well, the next-gen Huawei P50 Pocket has just surfaced online, at TENAA.
Next-gen Huawei P50 Pocket appeared online, at TENAA
TENAA, as some of you may know, is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC. Images of the device appeared there, along with some additional information that we will discuss here.
The phone surfaced with the model number “BAL-AL80”, and it differs from its predecessor in terms of design. It features a two-tone design, and from what we see here, Huawei will combine glass and leather.
There are three cameras included on the back, and they’re all part of the same camera island. A single camera sits on the main screen of the phone, and it’s centered, as it was on the original model.
It will have a larger cover screen and battery than its predecessor
Only one spec is listed here, and it is for the phone’s battery. This device will include a 4,260 mAh battery, it seems. It represents an improvement over the Huawei P50 Pocket, as it is larger by 260 mAh. This is actually a good size battery for this type of device.
That being said, we don’t have any further spec information. Based on the pure design here, however, this foldable will have a bigger cover screen. That of the Huawei P50 Pocket was really small and circular.
Given the size of this black panel on the back of the phone, this screen will be larger. We’re expecting a huge difference, in fact, and that’s one of the reasons the battery is bigger too.
However, we don’t really know which SoC Huawei will use, or what other specifications will bring. The Huawei P50 Pocket was well designed, so we have high hopes for this phone. It should be noted that Huawei is still banned by the United States, which limits the company. It also prevents him from using Google services on his devices. This phone will probably be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. It will compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 4, of course.
