The New Westminster Police Department is hoping the public can help identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a 12th Street convenience store.
A 7-Eleven employee called police after a suspect walked into the store, brandished a gun and threatened to harm him if he didn’t comply with their demands and hand over money. ‘silver. Following the armed robbery, which occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, the suspect fled north along 12th Street to Burnaby.
“This is extremely concerning to police, and we are asking the public to help us identify a suspect,” said NWPD spokesman Sgt. Justine Thom in a press release. “If you were driving in the area and have dash cam footage, or if the suspect’s description sounds familiar, the police are interested in hearing from you.”
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 35-40 years old, 5’7″ tall and of average build. The suspect was last seen wearing a cream-colored sweater, a cream-colored baseball cap, and a cream-colored balaclava that covered his entire face except his eyes.
