PRESENTER Richie Anderson has been confirmed as one of the stars taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Fans will know Richie for his work on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 breakfast show and he’s a regular A-lister off the air.
Snaps uploaded to Richie’s Instagram show him hanging out with Spice Girls Mel B and Emma Bunton, Steps singer Claire Richards and The Saturdays stars Mollie King and Frankie Bridge.
Outside of work, he enjoys a nine-year relationship with boyfriend Dean and he recently shared a series of photos to mark their time together so far.
Richie wrote: “Nine years of adventures, memories and madness. Never change, because you are the funniest and kindest human I know.”
They sometimes share glimpses of their home on social media, showing off their simple yet elegant gray and white theme.
Decorating their hallway walls were a series of prints of European cities and photos of the couple together.
Richie may be a promising presenter these days, but he had a very different job.
He is a former Sunday League footballer who played for Coombs Wood FC
In 2018, Richie came out as gay to his teammates after playing football.
It was part of a film for The One Show, highlighting the pressures of homophobia in sport.
Confirming that he will be competing on Strictly, he said, “I don’t know anything at this time, but I can confirm that I will be doing the all-male partnership, which is so amazing.”
The Sun exclusively revealed in June 2022 that Richie would be competing on Strictly.
A TV insider said at the time: ‘As a proud, proud gay man, Richie would help make this programming diverse – and obviously would have the opportunity to dance with a male pro.
“Strictly is keen on keeping same-sex partnership as a regular feature on the show and Richie just might help them with that.
“They also like lesser-known stars to be in the mix, as they like famous contestants to take a journey from underdog to top dog.
