MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -Who said adults are the only ones who can have fun on New Year’s Eve? Hype Adventures and the Mississippi Children’s Museum Meridian celebrated the New Year with the little ones. Both special events are referred to as “noon” New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Trenton Thompson, Managing Director of Hype, spoke about all the midday year had to offer: “We had Mickey and Minnie Mouse joining us, we had face paints and including and all the other activities zip line, jump tower, race, laser tag.. We got it all.
The excitement really flared up when the ball was released. Everyone loved it!
“My favorite part of today is watching the kids gather around the balloon drop and letting the kids play with the balloons having fun with each other.” Says Hype employee Kailone Anderson.
And at the Mississippi Children’s Museum, kids celebrated by making their own New Year’s Eve hats and noisemakers.
A treasure hunt was one of the highlights.
“I found everything and ended up getting a prize,” Ryan said.
“I especially enjoyed doing the little scavenger hunt with the people wearing those crowns,” Vier said.
“I liked the confetti thing,” Morgan said.
The kids also made their own confetti and took fun pictures in a photo booth.
