Hiking always promises adventure. If we bring our beloved pup, we can probably expect even more fun and excitement. After all, animals make any activity even more special. That’s why, if you love animals and hiking, you’ll probably want to hike with goats.
In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.
Strap on your hiking boots for a one-of-a-kind adventure with 37 North Expeditions’ Goat Hike & Winery Tour. The full-day adventure runs from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The hikes usually take place several times a month, so you should have plenty of time to find a date that fits your schedule. Keep an eye on the 37 North Expeditions Facebook Events page for current and future dates.
Join the goats as they lead you on a 3.5-mile hike through Devil’s Den State Park in nearby Arkansas. However, you will be hitchhiking to the state park from Farmers Park in Springfield.
An additional pick up location is available at the HUB Bike Lounge in Bentonville, Arkansas. Round trip and an experienced guide are included in the tour price.
You’ll meet your new furry friends at Devil’s Den State Park. The goats are part of Snake Mountain Pack Goats, an organization that works with veterans, especially those with PTSD or disabilities, and helps them out.
Remember to bring your camera. After all, can you think of anything better than posing for selfies with the goats and taking snaps of the scenes – waterfalls and caves, for example – along the trail?
Don’t worry if you’re not ready to carry your bag or backpack. Your new goat friends can help you out by carrying it around a bit.
After your hike, you’ll say goodbye to the goats and head to nearby Sassafras Winery for a bite to eat and wine tasting if you’re 21 or older. Both the trip and the winery are family-friendly, although guests must be at least 12 years old.
Tickets are $79 and include transportation, a guide, and a $25 donation to Snake Mountain Pack Goats.
Learn more and reserve your place on the official website of 37 Expéditions Nord. Or go here for Facebook.

Smartphones are always handy for capturing vacation snaps, but if you’re in the mood for some real adventure, they just won’t cut it. What you need instead is a camera that can withstand the elements and take a serious hit or two in the process – you need an action camera. It’s no secret to […]
