Gardaí investigating an assault at a family home on Connolly Road, Ballyphehane, Co. Cork on Friday evening is appealing for witnesses.
Two men had to be hospitalized with suspected acid burns to their faces and upper bodies. Cork City firefighters had to set up a decontamination tent outside the house in the south of the city to provide emergency treatment to the victims.
Armed Gardai, Ambulances and Cork City Fire Units rushed to the scene after an emergency call was made around 8.20pm on Friday evening.
Three men, believed to be brothers, one in their 40s and two in their 30s, were injured in the incident. The man in his 40s and one of those in his 30s were taken to University Hospital in Cork for treatment for their injuries.
A third man did not require hospital treatment for his injuries.
A man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the incident and appeared before a special sitting of the Cork District of Cork on Sunday March 6, 2022.
Gardaí investigators are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are also appealing to anyone who was in the Ballyphehane, Togher and Bandon Road areas of Cork City, between 8pm and 9.30pm on March 4, with camera footage (including a dash cam) for the make available to them.
