Call for witnesses and dash cam footage after car crashes into tree in Guisborough

Police are appealing for witnesses or drivers who may have dashcam footage of a car colliding with a tree.

The Cleveland police call follows the single-vehicle collision in Guisborough on Thursday, September 1.

A black Kia Sorrento is said to have been traveling north on Whaddon Chase, towards Dulverton Way, when it left the road and collided with a tree, at 11am.

The driver, a 72-year-old man, suffered several broken vertebrae and a fractured sternum during the impact.

He was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he remained for treatment.

If anyone has seen the vehicle or has dash cam footage of it prior to the collision, they are asked to contact the Cleveland Force through the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 156224.
